Replace Missing Teeth with Quality Dental Implants

Dental Implants help you smile and chew with confidence again

Have you lost teeth? We understand how upsetting and challenging this can be. At Graceville Dental, our goal is to ensure your dental implants look and feel like a natural tooth. We can’t wait to see you smile again!

Why missing teeth need to be replaced

Losing a tooth can leave you unable to eat the foods you enjoy, unable to speak properly and lacking confidence in your smile. If left too long, your remaining teeth may start to move into the gap, which can change your bite and cause other dental problems.

Missing teeth can have a negative impact on your oral health and your overall health. Our skilled dentists can advise on the best options to replace a missing tooth, which is often a dental implant.

With our dental implants, you have a permanent replacement for your missing tooth, which looks great and is easy to maintain. You’ll be able to eat and speak with ease - and be ready to flash that smile again. The implant/s will also prevent any shifting in your adjacent teeth, keeping your bite intact, which helps ensure the longevity of other teeth.

What’s the Dental Implant process?

The process of getting dental implants requires minimal invasive surgery and has certainly come a long way. Following is an outline of the steps involved.

Initial Consultation: We’ll assess your suitability for an implant and chat with you about the process, answering any questions you may have.

Scan: We’ll send you for a CT scan with a radiologist to determine what level of bone you have and the location of nerves.

Follow Up: At this appointment, we review the scan, and outline the treatment plan with cost. We also take impressions to get a surgical guide made.

Start Process: Stage 1, which is a sterile surgical procedure where the implant is placed under the gum. Expect this to take at least 1 hour.

Integration: Depending on the location of the tooth, a waiting period of 3-6 months is required for the implant to integrate.

Review/Crown Prep: Once the implant is integrated, we take impressions and 3 weeks’ later, the crown is inserted.

The next best thing to your natural teeth

Most patients are suitable candidates for dental implants. Our implant patients provide positive feedback.

As dental implants are fused into your jawbone, they can last a lifetime if cared for properly and generally don’t need to be replaced.

Your dentist will advise you on the correct follow-up care during the healing period after insertion of your dental implant. On an ongoing basis, caring for an implant is as simple as what you do for your normal teeth. We advise six-monthly check-ups, plus twice-daily brushing and flossing.
